On January 13, 2013 KIA revealed the GT4 Stinger concept car, the brand’s most aggressive concept car ever. With a rear-drive 2+2 sports car the concept stretches the boundaries of performance and style. “Driving enjoyment was the number one priority in designing the GT4 Stinger,” said Tom Kearns, chief designer, Kia Design Center America (KDCA).
A finely-tuned version of KIA’s 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injected (T-GDI) four-cylinder engine lies under the hood of this car, putting out 315 horsepower. There are currently no plans to bring the GT4 Stinger into production, however KIA has been known to release cars into their line-up that are inspired from their concepts and the GT4 Stinger provides a possible glimpse into the future of KIA.
Who is the GT4 Stinger intended for you may ask? Kearns quips, “It’s a totally selfish design. The design team at KCDA is full of gearheads and enthusiasts, and the GT4 Stinger is the perfect car for that kind of crowd.”
